作品自身无法单独存在，环境产生现象，现象创造出了作品的存在。
迄今为止人类制造出来的事物，就像石头一样由物质形成存在，其自身具有稳定的结构。与这些事物不同的是，本作品的存在本身是由环境创造的。
环境产生现象，环境使得这个存在的结构维持稳定。这个存在我们称它为环境现象。
存在将迄今为止构成存在的因素从物质中释放出来，日常生活中随处可见的空气、水、光等会因特殊环境而产生奇特的现象，这种现象就是存在。而这种存在的界限是模糊且连续的。即使人们破坏了作品，只要环境被维持着，作品就会继续存在。相反，当环境得不到维持时，作品就会消失殆尽。人们的意识，将从存在本身扩展到环境。
当我们把石头放在一个与外界隔绝的密封盒子里时，它仍会继续存在，但生命如果被放在这样一个密封盒子里，就无法维持它的存在了。生命也是因环境而维持下去的存在。
或许生命本身，也是在这打开的世界中、连续的流逝中的奇迹般的现象。

浮游的巨大雕塑，从泡沫的海洋中诞生，超越了质量的概念，既不沉入地面，也不触及天花板，而是在空间的正当中漂浮。这个漂浮的雕塑存在的轮廓是模糊的，它时而被粉碎变得更小，也会粘在一起变得更大。即使人们将身体整个沉浸到这个雕塑中，它的存在也依然维持，即使被人们破坏，它也会自我修复。然而，当团块被破坏到超过其自我修复范围的上限时，它会因为来不及修复而逐渐崩溃。并且，即使人们想要推开或移走它，也无法移动这个雕塑；如果人们扇起风，雕塑甚至会随风消散。人类的物理行为，甚至无法移动这个雕塑。
石头以及迄今为止人类制造出来的事物，都是物体，其本身具有稳定的结构。当我们把石头放在一个与外界隔绝的密封盒子里时，它仍会继续存在。
另一方面，在海洋中诞生的漩涡，如果移入一个封闭的盒子里，瞬间就会消失。也就是说，漩涡并不能依靠其本身来保持稳定的结构。漩涡是环境产生的流动中的存在，是由水从漩涡的外部流向内部，又从内部流向外部的持续流动而创造的。由流动所产生的具有秩序的结构使得漩涡得以维持，并随流动而变化。而且，其存在的轮廓是模糊的，漩涡及其外部都是由水构成的，它们在物质上没有任何区别。
通过创造一个非物体的特殊环境，借由该环境产生的能量秩序来创造存在。我们将这种由能量秩序形成的存在称为“Higher-Order Sculpture”。它与环境不可分割，并随环境的变化而变化。它超越了以往由物体构成的存在的常识，在半空中维持其存在，且存在的轮廓是模糊的。即使人们将身体整个沉浸到该存在中，其存在也依然维持，即使被破坏也能自我修复。
这是一种以开放系统为前提的雕塑。
在这个空间里，从物质上讲，只有非常普通的肥皂、水和空气存在。
用泡沫填满空间，创造出一个特殊的环境，并在空间内产生能量的秩序。这样一来，一个巨大的团块从泡沫的海洋中诞生、漂浮起来，并静止在半空中。
从现今的生物学角度来说，还无法对生命进行严格的定义，但为了方便起见，我们将以细胞为组成单位、能进行新陈代谢并自我繁殖的事物称为生物。换句话说，所有生物都是由细胞组成的。并且，所有细胞都被由脂质双层结构组成的细胞膜所包围。双层结构的外侧具有亲水性，双层结构的层与层之间具有疏水性，所包裹的囊状物外部和内部都是水。肥皂泡也同样被脂质双层的膜所包裹，构成这个雕塑的气泡，在结构上与细胞膜相同。不过，气泡的脂质双层结构与细胞相反，双层结构的外侧具有疏水性，双层结构的层与层之间则具有亲水性，因此囊状物外部和内部都是空气。也就是说，如果细胞是水中的囊状膜，那么气泡就是空气中的囊状膜。
这个雕塑是由与生物的组成单位——细胞相同结构的物质，以及环境产生的能量秩序所创造出来的。
生命也同样，从外部吸收物质和能量作为食物，向外部排放物质，并在将能量向外耗散的同时，构建起有序的结构。生命就像漩涡一样，是存在于外部环境产生的物质与能量流动之中的，其存在的轮廓是模糊的。
生命的结构正是这种流动所创造的能量秩序，生命或许就是存在于物质与能量流动中的一种神奇现象。

All life exists within the flow of matter and energy, and the flow itself creates and maintains its structure.
This differs fundamentally from objects that possess an independent, static, and stable structure, such as stones, iron, or the artifacts humans have historically created.
The artwork does not stand by trapping air inside and relying on its internal pressure. The inlet and outlet are the same size, and air continuously flows through the inside. By that very flow, the artwork stands, maintaining its structure and existence. If the flow stops, the material remains, but the artwork ceases to exist.
Here, the object is not being moved by the flow. The flow itself creates the structure and gives rise to existence.
The artwork is strongly influenced by the environment, such as wind, rain, and humidity, significantly changing its movement and height. As long as the environment that gives rise to existence is maintained and the flow continues, the artwork’s existence is maintained even whilst it constantly changes shape.
It is continually moving, flexible, soft, and fragile.
Pillar of Constant Flux is an attempt to expand sculpture from a fixed object into an existence whose structure continues to be generated by a continuous flow within an open environment. Rather than the artist directly creating the shape, the artist creates an environment in which existence is born. Here, the condition for the existence of sculpture shifts from matter to the order created by flow.

* Dusk to dawn on heavy rainy days
On a night of heavy rain, the falling rain over the grassland becomes an artwork.
Countless masses of light float in the air, each one composed of two colors. The boundaries of each color are clearly separated as though they are solid.
The seemingly solid color separation of the masses of light is not seen in the natural world, and is caused by extreme synchronization. Through self-organization over time, this synchronization phenomenon creates a large ordered structure.
When you touch a solidified light, you realize that the visible part is part of something that continues to flow without interruption.
Life is a phenomenon like crystals of ephemeral light, miraculously solidified into a continuum of energy that continues to flow without interruption from a past whose beginning is unknown.

* On sunny days with wind
When the wind blows, this artwork appears in the sky. It shines when the sun comes out and glows when the sun sets.
Materials made by humans, such as concrete, have maintained a stable structure on their own like a stone. Vortices on the other hand are created and sustained by the water that continuously flows inwards and outwards, maintaining an ordered structure within that flow. Life similarly maintains order through the continuous inward and outward flow of energy and matter through food.
This artwork also has no structure by itself, but rather the structure emerges from the flow; it is soft and flexible like a life form. The flow is what creates order from chaos.
